Frequently Asked Questions
How to estimate usage?
We conducted an experiment: browsing a popular Reddit post, reading all comments at normal reading speed, took > 5 minutes and used 33,918 characters. If you browse Reddit for 1 hour per day, you would need approximately 12 million characters per month. If you want to estimate how many tokens 12 million characters correspond to, here's the experimental data: 33,918 characters correspond to 15,000 input tokens and 11,000 output tokens. Why use character count as the usage unit? We reference DeepL's pricing strategy because we can count characters ourselves, but we can't count tokens.
Character counting rules?
Character counting rules: • One Chinese character, one letter, one number = 1 character • One punctuation mark, one space = 1 character • One line break (Enter key) = 1 character AI translation costs consist of input and output token costs. BilangPage reduces translation frequency through batch translation, reducing system input prompts, and reduces unnecessary text translation through language recognition and site adaptation, thereby lowering token consumption, which is reflected in pricing.
Image Translation Quota
Image translation is converted into corresponding character count based on API costs. Each translated image deducts 20,000 characters from the quota, but failed translations do not consume usage.
